This seminar explores the critical synergy between informal assessments and norm-referenced tests in psychological evaluation. Participants will examine how informal tools provide essential qualitative insights and "real-world" context, despite lacking the rigid psychometric properties of standardized measures. Complementing this, the session will detail the selection and utility of norm-referenced scales, which benchmark individual performance against defined groups to measure aptitude and behavior. By analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, and best practices of both approaches, this session equips practitioners to build more robust, comprehensive assessment batteries for diverse clinical and educational settings.
